Nothing since, apart from copious amounts of tea.

Will have a light lunch and will take Eddie for a nice walk this afternoon and also walk to collect girls at 6.00, so back in the right direction.

I think the weather being nicer today makes me feel more energised and up for it…long may it continue!

I had been doing really well and had got down to 9stone 9lbs, without too much effort. Just resisting chocolate and refined sugary and walking the girls to nursery.

However, last month, things have slipped! Have been out quite a lot, with the result of me consuming far to much food and drink.

Have also slipped back into biscuits and cakes at home – perhaps because the weather has turned wintery again and I am instinctively laying down some nice insulating fat! Well that’s my excuse!

Anyway the long and short of it is that I am a little scared to jump on the scales, especially after scoffing so many chocolate biscuits this evening, but will do in the morning!

Fingers crossed!

Poor little thing…went upstairs and she was trashing about, saying no and crying her little heart out.

I dampened down her hair and made reassuring noises in her ear and after around 10 minutes she seemed to come out of it and asked for her “dummy, blanket” – always a good sign.

Hopefully that’ll be in for the night, although from experience they can happen once an hour for a few hours…let’s hope not.

(Of course, Molly slept through it – bless…)

After initially losing 2 (ish) stone after giving birth – mostly due to breastfeeding Molly for what seemed like 24/7! – the weight has been creeping back on and know if I don’t do anything about it I will feel even more unhappy with my body.

I weighed myself this morning and am 10 stone 3.8 lb. Not massive for my height of 5ft 5 inches and wearing a size 12 but is the heaviest (apart from my two pregnancies) I have ever been.

I have never dieted in my life, so my aim is to just cut back on the chocolate and other refined sugary stuff and TRYand up the exercise. So not ground-breaking stuff, but hopefully will help me reach my first milestone of 9 stone 6lb….I will set a further target, if/when i reach that!

What I do not want to do is get too hung up on it. Having suffered from Bulimia in my youth, I am oh so aware of how distructive food obsession can be and food and drink and socialising are important to me.

What I hope that I will achieve is the weight loss I want without feeling hungry all the time, thinking about food all the time or being miserable….I guess I can hope…watch this space! x

Thought it was going to be unlucky 13! No nap for Daisy, again, today so needless to say she was exhausted and grumpy and was fighting going to bed. That was until it was Molly’s bedtime, then of course she wanted to be in their room turning the light on and being noisy. Bless her, Molly couldn’t keep her eyes of her big sis and wanted to see what was going on, but of course this was not helping her get to sleep. After having a word with myself to, in the words of Jules in Pulp Fiction, “be cool”, Daisy and I went downstairs for a nice cuddle in front of some kiddies telly, thus allowing Molly to happily put herself to sleep. This was followed by me ’singing’ rockaby baby to her and dispite her protestations that she wasn’t tired she soon nodded off. To be honest since we moved the beds next to each other, on Daisy’s request – she kept wanting to make up a bed next to her little sister – they have both been sleeping really well…I reckon the sound of each other breathing in and out is soothing to the other one. Well lets hope so.

Guess it was too much to hope for that things would continue as well as they had been. Am writing this at 9.30pm and Daisy (2yrs 8mths) is lying on the sofa…she did make it to bed and appeared all relaxed after 3 (just one more Mummy…) stories, but she was tricking me…ten minutes of silence had elapsed and I was just settling down to some QI, when I heard movement and Molly crying….went upstairs and the ceiling light and Daisy’s bedside lamp were both on and Daisy had that ‘I didn’t do it’ look on her face ). She then told me that she wasn’t tired and proceeded to make a bed up, next to Molly’s cot, as I gave Molly a feed to get her back to sleep, another ‘rule’ broken. It’s a times like that, that you really appreciate how noisy a toddler can be, when you really want them to be quiet ). So here we are with a wide awake (but knackered) daughter on the sofa, who I am praying will crash out soon…..watch this space…oh yes, removed the lightbulbs – how desperate is that? ).

Well, am in bed now (nearly midnight) and can report that Daisy has been in bed for around an hour or so now…I have just checked on them and they are both snoring their heads off! Bless…Ur oh, Kev has just got in from the pub, please don’t wake them up! Night all.

Am officially back to work on Monday , albeit self employed and working from home, after my maternity leave for daughter number 2. Although the relaunch of the website is exciting and hope will be a success, it has brought to the fore again the need to balance childcare with ability to be efficient with work. When returning to work after Daisy in 2008, this was to a full-time job and she was in nursery for most of the week, with my Mum helping for the rest. Not being with her for most of the week was tough, especially as I was working 83 miles from home, however, when I was at work I was at work and did not have to try and do it whilst looking after a baby. Following redundancy, it was great to be working with Kev with his business and I kept Daisy in nursery whilst I worked from his office. This time round it is great having the flexibilty of fitting work around them, without putting both into nursery full-time, however, there are times when I really need to get something done and they need me. I intend putting Molly into nursery when she is a little older which I reckon will make things simpler (workwise, will worry about her, no doubt when she is there…) but of course costs will go up and so will need to work more and so it goes round…..

Night 5 of Daisy (2yrs 8months) and Molly (6 months) sharing their bedroom and have just come back downstairs after feeding Molly . What a difference those few nights make! Night one I was convinced that the slightest sound from one would wake the other, so let Daisy stay up until she was exhausted and then she got over tired and had a night terror…I should have just got on with it as normal, remembering that kids are pretty adaptable and listened to my friend Kate’s who said that I would be surprised how quickly, particularly Daisy, would adjust to having a room mate…of course she was right! Daisy definitely loves having a bigger room and seems to love sharing it with her baby sister and of course now I have the chance to buy them a dolls house (something I promised myself I would do when they shared). Seems weird to think that the first night was tricky and to be fair it was only tricky because I was worried that if one of the made a noise the other would immediately wake up! My advice for others, therefore, is not to stress and not keep ssshhhing! his hasn’t happened and I have managed to feed Molly in the middle of the night without waking Daisy and read her a story without waking little sis…cool! I suppose that I shouldn’t be surprised, I shared with my two sisters until I was 13 and thinking about it, I must have shared with my older sister and older brothers until I was around 3 as we lived in a two bedroom cottage until then. My parents never reported any problems and I do not believe it did me any harm, although think I ws ready for my own room by the time I was a teenager….no need to worry about that just yet for our two though

Well, I can only assume that I was pregnant, but then miscarried before things had a chance to progress or that there was something wrong with the test. The reason I think this is that two subsequent tests have been very positive in their negativity! To be fair, the first test I did, did only show a faint line, but a line nonetheless and I did a second expecting the line to be clearer, but no the test was negative. At that time, I didn’t know what to believe, so left it a few days and retested, but with the same result. We were disappointed, had already discussed sleeping arrangements, including possibility of bunk beds and I know that Kevin’s Mum was hoping for a little boy…but it obviously was not to be. We are both pragmatic though and see no benefit on dwelling on it, what will be will be; and of course two young daughters and a new business is likely to keep me plenty busy enough!
